December Group Supervision 2021
Our 3rd Thursday group is meeting December 16th at 6:00am
Our 2nd Friday group is December 10th at 9:30am
Since we’re in WINTER, it’s a good time to talk about crisis response, emotional boundaries and potential countertransference issues. As SPRING is around the corner and with spring comes increased depression rates and suicide rates, it’s good to get a head start on this topic.
Winter time may bring seasonal affective or seasonal depression, however, spring surprisingly comes with a significant increase in depression as a population. The science isn’t clear on the specific causation, however some contributors include increased pressures of having fun and socializing, increased inflammation and health issues associated with increased allergen exposure, increasing outdoor temperature and body image difficulties, change in sleep patterns with increased daylight, etc.
With this awareness, I want you to mull around some of these questions and bring your notes to the group:
How do you (in all honesty) respond to someone in crisis? What is your reaction? What are the inner thoughts that arise? The inner critic? Where do you feel this in your body?
What is your experience navigating through suicidal ideation or hopelessness with clients?
How do you process, set your emotional boundaries with these clients?
That’s it! I hope you all are having a wonderful December and well see you soon!!
See you all soon.
